twenty(20) for 2020
A Playwriting Challenge and Contest
aka “The QuaranTENs”
SO YOU WANT TO READ SOME PLAYS WITH US?
Firstly, let's acknowledge how awesome you are for even entertaining this. We can't do this contest without a committed group of VOLUNTEER script readers. So, thank you very much helping us financially and artistically support artists from around the world. THANK YOU!
YOUR PARTICIPATION
Readers will need to have a little bit of free time -- approximately 2 hours per day to read the plays. Readers will receive a maximum of twenty (20) scripts once a day. Readers then score each script based on a few factors. These scripts will be delivered blind — meaning you will NOT know the name of the playwright and (unless you tell folks, or allow us to tell folks) the playwrights will not know your names. Scores will be tabulated and the highest scoring script will be awarded.
CAN YOU PARTICIPATE AS A WRITER AND BE A READER?
YES!!!
You can’t score your own work (obviously) and because it’s all blind, we’re ethically okay if you win. We not only encourage you to write, we'd love it. To learn more about being a participant, click here.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
You will need a couple of things to be a reader.
Everything will be digital so you’ll need
-
A device
-
Laptop, Tablet, or mobile phone
-
-
An email account
-
Internet connection.
-
-
So you can download and read the PDFs.
-
-
You’ll need to make sure you can read and score before the end of the day each day.
-
And you will need about 2-hours free per day to read.

COMPENSATION
This is a volunteer position and it would be great if everyone could volunteer. THERE IS NO COMPENSATION. We know, however, that everyone has been impacted by the quarantine. IF your income HAS been significantly impacted by COVID-19, we respect you and want to see if we can offer you something for your time. Please let us know and we may be able to figure something out.
